Rathbones Jersey Over 40s took on Guernsey Hockey Over 40s on Sunday in the first round draw that both sides had hoped to avoid. Jersey started the game tentatively and it was Guernsey who took the initiative finding early opportunities particularly on their right flank through Andrew Whalley. Over one hundred enthusiastic primary school children descended on Les Quennevais astro pitch on Saturday to enjoy the annual Rathbones Mini hockey tournament. Seven teams competed in both the A team Trophy tournament and the B team Cup tournament. The tournaments followed a round robin format with matches lasting 8 minutes. Matches were contested in a competitive yet friendly manner with all teams displaying good team spirit.

Having successfully qualified for the Tier 2 Regional round following excellent displays and results from a tough West Cluster League, Rathbones Jersey Hockey’s U16s Boys headed off to host club Marlow to play in the Regional Round – one step away from the National Finals weekend at Lee Valley in April.

Rathbones Jersey missed out on progressing to the next round of the England Hockey Trophy following an agonising defeat at the hands of Kingsbridge & Salcombe HC on Saturday. Goals from Aleisha Duffy and Kerry Rogers helped Jersey fight back from a goal behind twice to draw 2-2 after normal time, before losing on sudden death in the shootout.
It has been Jersey's best ever run in the competition, and captain Trudy Dillion-Nugent told ITV that she is pleased how the team has grown during the run:
