Safeguarding and Protecting Young People

Jersey Hockey is affiliated to England Hockey and therefore has adopted the England Hockey policies and guidelines related to safeguarding and protecting young people involved in the game. Safeguarding ‘Call To Action’

The 2020/21 'Call to Action document is now available to view by visiting the England Hockey website - http://www.englandhockey.co.uk/page.asp?section=1168§ionTitle=Safeguarding+Young+People%2FAdults. It contains a set of minimum standards for clubs to sign up to in regards to the welfare of players under 18 years old.


Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Hockey Policy

Jersey Hockey is committed to ensuring that all young people who play hockey have a safe and positive experience. You should feel safe and enjoy playing hockey. If you are concerned about poor practice or abuse against young people, please contact one of our Club Welfare Officers who are listed below ("CWO's"). Other useful contacts are MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) (01534 519000 or 01534 612612), Childline (0800 1111) and the NSPCC (0800 800 500).


Jersey Hockey is also guided by the Jersey Safeguarding Partnership Board.  The Safeguarding Partnership Board’s role is to co-ordinate work locally in Jersey which will safeguard children and adults and to monitor and challenge the effectiveness of Jersey’s safeguarding arrangements.  For more information please click HERE.  You will also find information on safeguarding courses which are being run in Jersey on these pages.
