Rathbones Jersey missed out on progressing to the next round of the England Hockey Trophy following an agonising defeat at the hands of Kingsbridge & Salcombe HC on Saturday. Goals from Aleisha Duffy and Kerry Rogers helped Jersey fight back from a goal behind twice to draw 2-2 after normal time, before losing on sudden death in the shootout.
It has been Jersey's best ever run in the competition, and captain Trudy Dillion-Nugent told ITV that she is pleased how the team has grown during the run:

At 8:00am on Sunday 29th January, twenty-eight excited boys descended on Jersey airport. The six strong coaching crew, warily considering the long, chilly, probably wet but hopefully enjoyable day ahead, assembled the boys into their 3 teams and with military precision escorted them through airport security, onto the plane in Jersey, off the plane in Guernsey, through the Guernsey baggage hall, onto the bus (with a squeeze) and into the Guernsey Hockey Clubhouse at Footes Lane. Rathbones Jersey made a very strong start to their 4th round knock out match. They had all possession for the first quarter and pressed well in their attacking end, making it very difficult for Yate to advance down the pitch. Kerry Rogers and Sarah Smith made some quick attacks, driving into the D leading to many short corners. Yate's defenders were quick off the line and stopped a lot of strikes on goal. The inaugural U16s Junior Hockey mixed festival took place in Guernsey on Sunday with Rathbones Jersey’s youngsters defending both trophies. Following the two main Girls and Boys Inter Insulars were two mixed matches as the finale to the day.
