| The results of the 1st XI have been very encouraging at both national level and in the inter-insular. The side reached the Quarter-Final of the HA Trophy, only losing to Didsbury after penalty strokes and they beat Guernsey (the winners of the HA Trophy) 5-2 away to regain the inter-insular trophy for the first time since 2002. Notwithstanding the performance of the 1st X1, overall results in the inter-insular were disappointing and this needs review in advance of next year’s home fixture. Pleasingly, Jersey provided 10 players in the Channel Islands side that got to the Semi-Final of the ‘B’ Division of the HA County Championship. Mention should also be made of the Jersey Hockey Club’s (JHC) Veterans side who got to the final of the HA Veteran’s Plate and only lost to Kingston-Upon-Hull in the last minute and to the Old Victorian’s (OVs) Convicts side who retained the Upton for the 2007-08 season. |
